The Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) at the college works to ensure that the college is achieving its goals and initiatives. In addition, Foundation members help raise awareness of the college and make connections with the local community to benefit students, faculty, and staff. Your financial support is essential to continuing offering scholarships that enable students from all backgrounds to attend college without taking on unmanageable debt.
What Is Institutional Effectiveness?
Institutional effectiveness is an ongoing cycle that helps colleges assess their current performance and make adjustments as needed in order to meet their goals. This process includes examining data related to student enrollment and retention, academic achievement, program quality, student satisfaction, etc. The OIE uses this information to develop strategies for improvement and measure outcomes. All this data provides valuable insight into how well the college is achieving its mission and objectives.
The Drake State Community & Technical College Foundation’s role is to provide additional resources for the college beyond what is allocated by state funding or tuition revenue alone. In particular, foundation members focus on raising funds for student scholarships so that students don’t have to take on excessive debt in order to attend college. They also help create community partnerships that benefit both the college and local organizations alike and organize events such as “Drake Day” which promote school spirit among alumni and other supporters of the school. Most importantly, foundation members serve as ambassadors of the college by sharing their positive experiences with potential students or donors who may not be familiar with Drake State Community & Technical College but could be interested in supporting it financially or academically in some way.
